How do you CLI at activation?

Do you get a CSR on the phone and ask them? Does the activation phone number provide this option? Is the option available online?

Yes, you ask the CSR who is doing the activation. They may need to transfer you. Also keep in mind, not all creditors do CLI at activation.

BofA does. Amex doesn't (anymore). Those are the only ones I know off the top of my head. I'm sure others can chime in.

Anyone know what the criteria is for the CLI? What do you say? I want to ask, but SO nervous!!!

Goal: acquire and use Credit Cards, scores in the 700's in 2009
05/04/08 FICOS: EQ = 626; TU = 636: EX = 623
06/21/09 FICOS: EQ = 692; TU = 729; EX = 731 (CCT FAKO)
10/03/11 FICO EQ = 722 (CCT EQ = 749)

The criteria for a CLI are some combination of the following: * steady payment history with the CCC and avoiding charging cards up over 50-75% or so. * an overall credit profile better than what you had when you got your previous credit limit.
