How do you find out when your CC reports balances on a FICO report?

According to FICO (all 3 bureaus reporting), that I have 16 accounts with balances. Excluding Mortgage, car, and student loans, that puts 13 accounts with balances. Of those 13 (credit cards), 3 I PIF. One is an Amex that has to be PIF, the other two are Visa/MC for the places that don't use Amex. I'm trying to increase my FICO score, so is it possible to actually get the three PIF cards to show a 0 balance? Someone posted here that they were able to find out when their CC reported the monthly balances, but I couldn't determine from my 3-in-1 report when that information is posted monthly. Thanks!

Which 3-in-1 report do you use?

Unless the Visa or MC come from HSBC or one of its offshoots, chances are that they report on their statement dates. (Not the due dates, but the dates printed on the tops of the statements, or the dates that they show up on your online account.)

There is something odd about how AmEx posts --on its statement date, but the previous month's balance, or something similar. Also, your charge card util shouldn't be included in your util, but it will be helpful to have it showing a $0 balance (I'm guessing that's your goal.)

AmEx people, when do these things update? And which balance do the report? And is it any different for the charge cards versus the credit cards?

For me, Amex consistently reports on the 29th or 30th of every month, and they report the balance on the statement that was generated earlier that month.

Since my statement date is always around the 3rd to the 5th, this has the effect of making my balance look like it's a month behind.  If my statement date were around the 25th or so, though, it would look pretty much up to date.  That's why there seems to be conflicting information about how Amex reports.  It all depends on when in the calendar month your statement date happens to fall.

This is different from HSBC, in that HSBC also reports at the end of the month, but they always report the balance as of the date they report, regardless of whatever the last statement balance was.

Does that help? Smiley Tongue

Ditto for Amex - but EX does not seem to have noticed at the moment  Smiley Sad

You are not alone in you non-EX reporting on AMEX.

All the others report on the statement date, and the CRAs take various amounts of time to record them.

Yep, I'm in the same situation.  Weird though, since EX is always the fastest to update for me.  I haven't seen any updates on there for about 3 weeks.
