Hi there. I just read another post about Chase doing a soft pull to determine if they wish to send a pre-approval offer. Chase has not been softing my CR's and was wondering how they know whether or not to take a look at my records. I know that sometimes CCC's will soft pull if you had been a previous card holder, but does anyone else know of the ways CCC's have of getting you in their sights?
My initial thought is that they purchase lists from a direct marketing company of people who are known to currently be seeking credit (new credit card accounts, etc.).
Does anyone have any inside info?
