How does it take for amex points to post?

I have points that say:

Pending Points become Available Points when you:

1. Pay your bill on-time.
2. Wait until the next closing date

My statement just cut and says the same thing it said last month.

I've noticed that it takes 3-5 days to post after the cycle cuts.

I asked amex about this because mine havent shown up and it says they will after first statement cuts which happened on the 9th but they still dont show.  I was told in chat that with a new account it can take up to 3 billing cycles for them to show up.

That's just a way to save themselves if anything goes wrong. It rarely takes more than a week after statement cuts to post the miles.
