So I'm new to this card, and the BB CSRs I've talked to haven't been exceptionally helpful. One of them actually said that even with the Visa, one gets points on only Best Buy purchases lol.
So how/when do points show up for purchases made OUTSIDE of Best Buy? I've used my card at the grocery store and gas stations and I never saw any points pending or otherwise for those purchases. I thought maybe they would show up after the statement cut but no luck.
Is there some place where it shows the breakdown of where points were earned? It would be nice if there were something like that, or if the purchases showed how many points you got after posting.
Are the credit card and Best Buy website logins seperate or all tied together?

They're all tied together from what I can tell.

I don't have the credit card myself but I know at least on my Best Buy account all the purchases and what they earn are on the merchant website itself. I use to plan my purchases when I reach the tier thresholds for higher earnings and longer return time period
This has been my biggest gripe with the card. They constantly have these promos and I have no way to track progress (on something like, spend $250 outside of BB and get $25 back in rewards). I have no clue how much I'm actually earning but since it often is categories that overlap with my Amex BCE, I often don't use it outside of BB. The exception being those "Spend X, get Y back." I wish I could see exactly how much and get a breakdown of CB earned per purchase.
This is something I'd like to know. Approved October 7th and haven't purchased outside BB yet.
I have 2 promos. The first is 10% points on Drugstores and 5% at Wholesale Clubs.
Then $10 rewards when I spend $30.
Now I'm confused on the Best Buy Visa credit card here. I know they have spending categories outside of Best Buy but I always assumed all rewards earned were tied to your BB account for points to redeem for cerfiticates. This of course is outside of spending offers where it implicitly states it's a statement credit like it does for the Sears/SYW credit cards
You're gonna be given a myBestbuy member ID with the bestbuy visa card you opened. Create a profile using that member ID and link that bestbuy visa card as payment form. All your rewards on purchases regardless where made are shown on that portal.
To make payments to that card, You will have to visit another citi site.
I find it easier to navigate using the app though. GL.

Basically all points made outside bestbuy are awarded each month after each statement cuts and are shown on the bestbuy app/site under "Rewards" tab. You will be given options on how you want certificates awarded based on $5 increments or even on a point banking system. It will not be shown on the citi site where you make payments on.

There's 5% for BB purchases, which equal 2.5 points per dollar.
3% for gas equals 1.5 points per dollar.
2% for gas and 1% for everything else equal 1 point per dollar.
250 points would equal $5 Reward certificate.
