How easy is it to PC from one Citi card product line to another?

Currently have a Citi AA MileUp card with a meh ($6200) limit. Use it occasinally  for coffee or something just to put spend on it. Did use my SUB points a couple weeks ago to purchase a ticket. Frankly felt nice. But I have no idea why I got this card in Nov '21 other than the mailer made me feel special.

Other than one of the other AA cards, is it possible to PC to something else? I'd rather not have a fee unless it delivered some REAL value. I travel once or twice during the summer, and maybe one other time during the year, and fly who ever is cheapest. So even though my lcoal airport is an AA hub, I usually avoid AA. Tried searching, but only found 8+ yo replies, or nothing specific.

TIA

B.

@biff-henderson,

You should have no problems calling and seeing what is offered?

Here is [ my personal experience.] ( I have done about 4-5 product changes with Citi)

Re: How easy is it to PC from one Citi card product line to another?

I've PCed AA Platinum Select to Costco (2017) and Prestige to DC (2018). The first was a bit unusual in that the process took about three weeks. Still, both PCs only took one phone call each.

Notably, Costco is a dead end PC-wise. You can PC to it but not from it.

Personal spend: Amex Gold, Amex Schwab Plat., BofA PR+CCR(x2), Costco
Business use: Amex Bus. Plat., BBP, Lowes Amex AU, CFU AU
Perks: Delta Plat., United Explorer, IHG49, Hyatt, "Old SPG"
Mostly SD: Freedom Flex, Freedom, Arrival
Upgrade/Downgrade games: ED, BCE
SUB chasing: AA Platinum Select

I PC'd my sockdrawered AA card (AA earned becoming dead to me) to a Custom Cash.  Easy Peasy.

Re: How easy is it to PC from one Citi card product line to another?

I don't know of someone from Citi read my post, or if it was just pure cincidence, but I got the following offer when I logged into my Citi app today.

AA Offer.jpg

I was seriously thinking abou trying to PC to this card, but don't think the fee is worth the benefits, even with the $99 AF waived for the first year. Prioriy boarding and a free checked bag don't really move the needle for me. I do't even do carryon. If it had lounge access, that would be different. Did using my miles trigger this? The only oher recent charge on this card was the $5 tax on the award ticket.

Current plan is to call in and PC to the Citi Custom Cash. I saw a rumor video that there was a new card on the way from Citi, but would a upper teir card be something I cold PC to anyway? Would it even be worth giving up the SUB?

TIA

Biff
