Now a days CCC's are doing hard even for CLI's. So watch out when you ask them for CLI and ask upfront if they would be doing a hard inq.

Unfortunately, the CSRs are not always very well informed.  They will tell you it will be a soft inq, and guess what lands on your CR.  I asked ... I think  it was AmEx ... twice, and got 2 different answers. Each CSR was confident they were giving me the right answer.  One was definitely wrong. Smiley Mad

I posted my inquiry count earlier via what TC says. MyFICO differs by a couple 8-23-35 (TU-EX-EQ).

MyFICO reports tend to only show items that directly affect your score, so they only show you INQs for the last year.  IMO this is a shortcoming of the MyFICO reports.  I want to see everything on my report that the lender sees, not just the things that affect my score.

TC, on the other hand, shows you all hard INQs for the last two years.

That's why your INQ count might be different on the two kinds of reports.

Hi Cheddar, Now they gave me Platinum with 39 Inq's. But before they would not give me regular Delta card which was supposed to be easier to get. Do you think, I should followup with them again about my Delta Card and have fun with them?

Since you asked, I don't think that would be a good idea.  You need to lay low with them for a while. Smiley Happy  IMO.

I can not wait to get home and take a look at my new card.

Have fun with that!  And I'm still a bit jealous. Smiley Happy

Re: How many inquiries

Hi Cheddar, I am only joking about Delta. I dont need any more cards. Only, one advantage of getting Delta would be the age of my accounts.

If they were to issue the card with 1995 date like they did for others who got their Delta after their Oasis cards, it will boost my average age of my accounts and give a boost to fico.

I have no need for any more cards except one good card for my biz so I can seperate my biz and personal expenses. I'll wait 6 months and get a good biz card.

If your score is high, then the first few INQs can hurt significantly.

I, on the other hand, have upper-600s on EX with 6 INQs and no red flag for me.  (I do have a red flag next to the 7 accounts opened in the last year, though.)

Re: How many inquiries

Also, this is only showing up as a neg on EQ.  I have three inqs on TU also (stupid Junny), but my report never mentions it...
