How much spending needed for cap1 PC

Hello all.

Noob question!
I’ve had my cap1 platinum for almost 4 statements and have a $600 SL. I am hoping to PC to the QuickSilverOne, but have failed to get the offer when I call.

My question is what is the best way to stimulate an offer? I’m only spending up about $150-$200 each month and paying down to $25 and letting it cut and auto pay. So maybe I’m not spending enough on it? Do I just need to wait longer? Anyway thanks for the advice.

It's Cap1. Best thing you can do with them is wait.

Re: How much spending needed for cap1 PC

I would say your constraint to the PC here is time, not your spend.  I'm not sure about the actual time table, but I would think CO likes to see at least 6 months with the product before a PC.  I think I did a PC from the Platinum to QS around the 1 year mark, but it could have been a little before or after that.  The spend IMO isn't a huge factor.  In fact, spend on a card that isn't all too worthwhile is naturally going to be low.  I just did a PC a couple of days ago from my QS to the Savor and the QS has been a SD card getting literally no spend outside of the occasional swipe every few months to ensure it keeps a pulse.

Thanks everyone, that’s good news. I’ll let it sniff some socks for a couple months and give it another shot. I’d love to get that 1.5% cash back on “everything else” but i’ll Just enjoy my blue cash until then. Your loss CO! 😛

I PC’ed my CapOne platinum after 3 months to a QS1 with no AF. Why wait. I’ll PM you the link.

One don’t upgrade to a Quicksilver one. Upgrade to a Quicksilver. I did mine after four months. Don’t know if that’s the norm or not. But it’s an easy card to PC. Just spend whatever you normally do and PIF. They will upgrade for you. I say Quicksilver because quicksilverone has a lower bar for upgrades in credit limit than a Quicksilver. Upgrading is much easier to get a Quicksilver than outright applying. Plus who wants to pay a fee?

I’ve searched that CO website up and down for where you can check for offers, I can’t find it, even asked a CSR and they claimed to not know. How do you get to it?

Re: How much spending needed for cap1 PC

I think the 6-month waiting period applies more specifically to obtaining new accounts from Cap One. I PC'ed my Platinum MC to a Quicksilver in June of last year, about 4 months after I'd obtained the Platinum.

Re: How much spending needed for cap1 PC

I was told my card was a QS and because I had another QS I rarely used it. Just for my AT&T WiFi and maybe once a quarter for lunch at McD's. I had the PC pop up and I went for it. Just received my MC with the QS logo. Neither of the other cards had any product labeling at all, but both were customized. My new CC isn't customized.
