A few months ago, I bought stuff through the portal for PetSmart and I believe I saw Target there as well. Today, they're both gone! Pretty sad because I just got the CFU and both stores are five minutes away from me. I was planning to buy everything online through the portal and pick things up in store for free shipping. ![]()
Can I expect them to come back? How often do they "switch it up?"
We do Amex and Shop with Chase bonus as well as Disco Deals. I have seen some hang on for months but one Amex deal gone in 1 day.
Usually its the same stores. Some seem to rotate. I know this does not help much. We check each atleast once or twice a week. Any store I see I like I write down if I think we might use and check with DW; and she wants to buy from them We then use them that day

No, that actually helps a lot! I was so afraid my go-to stores just disappeared and I would only get 1.5% back. I'll definitely try to wait a bit before buying nonessentials now and keep an eye out for my stores, so thank you so much for the reply.
On the plus side, I just noticed that Shutterfly is now at 5%! Was lower a few days ago, so I guess I should start working on my mom's birthday present now...
I hope you have all 3 Chase, Disco and Amex. It's interesting what stores come up. Store may leave chase and show up next at Amex with a different deal.
It might not be Chase's doing, but rather the merchant's. The merchant decides to pay a lower finder's fee, and Chase just no longer has anything to pass along to the customer. Target's best offer that I can see is currently 2x Avios through British Airways. I don't see any CC issuer-operated portals for Target right now.
Best Buy used to have several 3x portals, but now those rates have fallen.
Unfortunately, I only have Chase at the moment :/ New to credit cards so the UR card I "have" is as an AU and I've got a Chase Amazon.

That... would be unfortunate
I hope it doesn't last long.

Two alternatives: Use cashback monitor to find other portals (not so useful if you really want URs, but still):
https://www.cashbackmonitor.com/cashback-store/petsmart/
(Nothing too great today, but the rewards are in addition to whatever your credit card earns). FWIW, the pretty similar Petco seems to get better discounts, and that is available through Chase (but may not be near you).

For certain stores, consider discounted gift cards. Again, you only earn URs on the purchase of the card, but discounts can be significant.

Do you have a favorite airline or hotel you'd like to earn miles/points with? Those can work with any CC.
