Sooooo... My brother needed ca$$$h like yesterday. I decide to write him a Navcheck, thinking I'll just BT to one of my 0% accounts so that he can take his time paying me back. I didn't really think it through because of the urgency expressed. Now I have a $5K balance on Navcheck and not really sure how to BT. Since it's not a credit card, how do I do it? I can't BT to my Navy 0% deal. When I tried to BT to my Compass account, I ran into the terms talking about transferring a bank card. So, I'm thinking maybe I can request BT checks but, since the Navcheck account uses my bank account number, would that be processed as a cash advance, since it's going to a bank account?
Sheesh! Someone tell me how to get out of this mess. I don't want to have to pay his bill. I just want to set it aside to buy him time to pay it off. AAAAAND, I don't want to a Navcheck balance. *le sigh* Sometimes I move without thinking. #help

Just get whatever creditor you plan on using for the BT to issue you checks and then write the check to yourself, deposit it into your NFCU checking account and then payoff the NavCheck balance. In some cases like with Discover if they are offering you a BT, you can deposit the $ directly to your bank account that you pay the card with. Then you can just skip the check altogether. Easy to do.

Thanks. I just want to confirm that BT check deposited into my bank account will not be considered a cash advance.

Nope, won’t be a cash advance. Just the exact same as an online BT
