Re: How to Increase "Credit Limits"!?!?!?

I was in the same situation just a couple of months ago with BOA.
I got the secure card in 2002 and after a year, they upgraded me to the gold visa and eventually bumped my CL to $800. Since then my CL has been stuck at 800. I did have a 30 day late from moving and never received the bill. Anyways, my utility was always close to the limit and going over 3 or 4 times. They even raised my APR to 27.99%
Then I applied for Discover and BT the entire balance with 0% for 12 months.
It has been 2 months since I BT so I called BOA and asked for CLi.
I was given the 5-7 day letter notice and when I received the letter, it said denied due to past late payment and a CO in my CR (CO was paid and removed from EQ but still on TU and EX).

2 weeks ago I was able to upgraded to worldpoints but I read some feedback on this board that BOA don't do upgrades for low CL, I will have to wait until next week to see if I am approved, I was told it will take 3-4 weeks for the product upgrade.

Fingers crossed! Hope BOA shows me some love otherwise the card will be sock drawered.

Edited to say:

I just read this sticky

Excellent advice given... donno why it took me so long to notice this!

I agree with Solarjuju

This is a great read and change my thinking completely.  This has help improve my scores, CL's and overall debt understanding.  A MUST READ!!

Re: How to Increase "Credit Limits"!?!?!?

Well I broke down and requested a CLi and was givin the dreaded 5-7 day letter notice, which I kind of figured I would get............at least I will see what their factoring is and can work on that..........I know most of it is my UTI..........but I am sure they don't like the to CO's on my CR's either!  =(

Dang........I always pay on time (never been late), you think they would give you love for that!  Oh well!
