What are the tricks some use because so far my chat people have been not very nice.

Is there a particular company you are referring to? All the credit card companies have different policies and your question is very vague.
What card company are you referring to? I know 2 of which will give you low cli's and terrific sl's on a new card. Most likely why some of us have too many cards!
Sorry....currently trying to woo cap 1 into some love for my trip. They said they can't combine limits ie: MC limit to visa limit. and I'm not eligible for an upgrade.

Agreed.
If you spell out which credit card, and what are your current terms and conditions (limits, secured / unsecured, annual fee or not) then members will be happy (and able) to answer properly.
I've done it with Capital One and AMEX over chat. Citi wants you to call in. Chase will do a coversion via secure message. Barclays does conversion but I'm not sure if you need to call in. US Bank converts within its own cards and after some time but not across co-branded cards.
You'll have to be a bit more specific.

This is different than conversion.
You cannot combine (as of now) two Capital One cards. Also, if their system does not give you a credit limit increase then their chat reps won't be of any help.
Your best bet is to get in contact with Capital One Executive Office.
ok. thank you

Ok..Ok... CAP 1 does NOT combine limits unless you mean something else. Also, if the goonettes on the CAP 1 chat answering on behalf of CAP 1 aren't falling for your charm you best best is to reach out to CAP 1 EO.
That is the best route to go as they are very responsive and have helped alot of people.

Also, upon further reading, I didn't see you having two Cap One cards. Are you talking about making your QS1 a no-fee QS?
Chat reps (sometimes) might give a wrong answer about this conversion not being possible. You can also ask the Executive Office to waive off your annual fee which will make it a QuickSilver effectively.
I and many others in this forum have converted our previously non-QuickSilver MCs into QuickSilver. The MC doesn't change into a Visa with Cap One.

+1. The EO will often have offers to PC that aren't visible by frontline CSRs.
