Forgive me for being simplistic, but if it says, "VISA Signature" on the card, isn't it a VISA Signature card??

Yes (probably) if you have the physical card.  But I assumed the OP was talking about the case where you have the number only (from a customer say).

Generally, the ones starting with 4147 are Visa Signatures (AFAIK)

Interesting website you listed there, I like it!!!    Just by entering the first 6 digits -- it identifies the bank and what type of card...hmm

my Chase Amazon is listed as platinum

my Chase Freedom is listed as premier  -- hmmm

but both my US BANK cards are listed as platinum, even the Signature one Smiley Mad   Guess that's why it doesn't work at Fandango

and my Sam's Club MC comes up as JPMORGAN CHASE BANK, N.A.  lol

my USAA AMEX comes up as BANK OF AMERICA

(7/23/16) AMEX FICO EX 728, (6/20/16) Discover FICO TU 747, (7/24/16) Barclays FICO 750 (TC Lines $400+K) AAoA= 4.3 yrs

Right, it says "And although the database is very accurate, don't expect it to be perfect."   Not sure about the very accurate, but they are right that it's not perfect!

When my US Bank Plat upgraded to the Cash+  they did not change the number on my card.  The bin shows it to be a Plat when in fact it  was a Cash+

FICO 08
TU 842 12/8/18
EX 840 12/29/18
EQ 842 12/8/18
(NASA 30K) ( Amex 44k ) ( Freedom 10.6K ) ( US Bank Cash+ 20k, LOC 15k ) Winners never quit, and quitters never win
