So my Citi DC used to have a permanent 3.99% rate but over time with the fed hikes, it has slowly crept its way to 6.24%. For a while now I've been trying to get the APR lowered back to where it was but have failed at every attempt. Yesterday I tried again via chat and this was an excerpt of our conversation. So im wondering is there really anyone who has a similar or lower APR or has been able to get them to reduce their rate successfully below 6%?

WOW. Hats off to you my friend! That is seriously a nifty card!!!!!!! I mean, most folks were sporting a 5.x rate if they had a citi aa card and went on a apr reduction spree.... but with the rate hikes yes its at 6.24....
3.99 was their rate... but it was still variable, not in the agreement as fixed..... so.... And honestly, with the 2pct cash back, ongoing bt offers, etc... does it really matter? You can get 4.99% anytime on discover... so, i would say, it sucks, but I would love to have your APR. Mine is 3.99 promotional but goes back to 14.xx next month.
Call the EO if you want to try another route. The long distance number in the backdoor thread! Again, nice card. Shocked your limit isnt a bit higher. But still great for a DC!
Hahaha yeah I'm not sure I'd try to reduce that APR%...poking the bear and all that...even the Customer Service Rep is like "Oh you want to lower your APR% on your DoubleCash card...OK lets take a look...what the hell...this is the lowest APR% I've ever seen..."
I wouldn't draw too much attention to myself on this one =D

I'm very curious how you achieved that low of a rate at all. How did you get it? Did you have another card and PC'd?

Yeah especially since Chase is taking some of us who have been cruzin' for years and raising our Aprs to the current posted market rate. Mine just got adjusted ... it used to be like 9.90%. NOT HAPPY! ![]()
Gee if my Citi DC was at that rate i think ALL spend would go on it.. oh i need to float it, no biggie, thats like having your cake and eating it too... while asking for a second helping....
Congrats

Really surprised Citi, one of the major big banks, would offer an APR so **bleep** low!! 6%! How do you even get to that! 😳😱
