Hello all
So I called Capital One yesterday to ask a question about when the statement date is this month for my Platinum Mastercard. I was then told that I could product change my Platinum Mastercard to a Quicksilver. I was shocked because I have only had the card 4 1/2 months. She told me it was available to product change at the end of December!! That's literally only 3 1/2 months since I got this starter card with the $300 limit.
I told her sure go ahead and do it. Is this common to be able to product change a Cap1 card 3 1/2 months into me building my credit? It wasn't even the worse Quicksilver One, it was the better Quicksilver. And I checked on the Cap1 website and the Quicksilver can only be gotten for people with good or excellent credit.
Should I read into this at all? Maybe my credit is building the right way and Cap1 thinks I am worthy to move up to the Quicksilver? I still have the $300 CL but baby steps right?
Yes, it's common.
They cannot offer you QS1 because QS1 has annual fee (Card Act and all that).

mine went from $500 to $600 to $2100, but my EQ is dirty, I would expect yours would be more willing to grow.
it's normal for a 3 month PC.

When I first started them , it was a similar thing. $300-500-1800---- stopped at $8,000 credit limit.
From Patinum, upgrade to Quicksilver (QS) card (both cards had anual fees). I called apx a year ofter opening the card and had them upgrade it to a QS1 with no anual fee. It reamained in the Platinum level of their CCDs at each "upgrade".
Good luck!
