While I was waiting for the response at the store, I was so nervous! I felt my face getting hot, just waiting for that " Unfortunately" sentence..I'll keep everyone posted on my scores and tradelines as soon as I see something! Team Guinea Pig! By the way, the card I really want is the Macy's card!! But I'll just have wait on that!!
Hahaha....I was next in line at Macy's and heard the girl ask the person in front of me if they wanted to apply. I was hoping she would ask me that too but didn't, so I made her by picking up one of the apps and looking at it. She immediately asked. I said "Ahh, what the heck. I don't expect to be approved but go ahead." Hahahah. I 100% expected declined. When it came back she said "Approved, Yay!" It was a great feeling!!
I am officially joining the team. Just got my second card (1st store card) this week!!
Happy

Awww....
You know, I was thinking, though: an even better test of whether store cards help would be for someone who has one already, and has had it for a year or so, to close it.
That way, there wouldn't be the confusion created by the presence of the inq, the addition of the account and CL, and the new account ding.
This would only work if someone were closing their only or last store card, and if the rest of their report weren't rocking and rolling.
So if Team Guinea Pig has any potential new members who might be thinking of getting rid of that last store card, let us know! (For goodness' sake, don't close a card over so frivolous a reason, though --only if you're getting ready to do it anyway.)

After some thought, I think you may be right.

Does the store TL have to be open to count, or merely present? We could be waiting 10 years for an answer to the question...
Anyway I am out on that project. Losing my $8.7K of Macy's CL would upset my UTIL.
