Hello,
I seem to be missing something. I can't seem to get my accounts to combine. I have 3 Venture cards, and 2 QS cards.
I wanted to combine the two QS cards. One was opened May of last year, one was opened in October of last year.
I also have a Venture opened last May, one in July and one in October.
One of the QS cards has never been used. One of the Venture cards has never been used.
I try to go to combine, and it says I can't combine and gives generic reasons.. none of which apply to me.. for it being not qualified to be combined.
1) I've never been late; I may $1000+ monthly payments on my accounts.
2) I have no defaults in the last year.
3) I have never missed a payment with them.
4) I did have 3 prior accounts from years past closed by them due to default, but that was pre-bk and I was rather new to credit then. ($300 line here, $500 there.)
Is there something sticking out that would prevent me from combining them?
They just haven't rolled this option out to everybody yet. They were kind of doing a trial run and there are many people who can't use this feature yet. It does seem like they are starting to roll it out to more and more people lately, so just keep trying it and one day it'll work.

Wow, Thank you. I didn't realize it didn't actually work. I have the option, it just doesn't seem to offer a combination. I'll keep trying every month! Hopefully someday I can combine them, lol. I sort of went nuts with applying last year and would love to combine a few accounts.
If you are trying to combine the cards you never used, that may be the issue. I would run a few charges thru each, pay them off, and then try again to combine.

This isn't the problem. I have multiple cards with them and they all have activity at some point or another. I've had accounts at $0 during the month, at statement close, etc. It just isn't available to me yet - I'm hopeful they get it rolled out to everyone soon. I'd love to know their logic for making something that seems so simple, so complicated.
OP - do you have any AU's on any of your accounts? When I was chatting with a rep about it, they looked at all my accounts to make sure there were no AU's - not sure if that's a for real thing, or they were trying to help anyway they know how.

Nope, no AUs. Just myself.
Even though Capitalone states that only one of the cards being combined needs to have a zero balance and that the cards only have to be at least six months old; it never worked for me until both my cards had a zero balance and I had cashed out my rewards. Literally the next day it worked.
It's can't be the balance. I have 2 QS1's. One has a 0 bal and the other has a $1500 balance and it tells me I can combine mine. Unfortunately, it wants to kill the 0 balance card which is also my oldest card so I won't be combining them until I can pay the other one off to 0 and keep the oldest one. I also have AU's on both and it tells me those cards will disappear with the account that gets killed off.
Yeah, for me I definitely had to have zero on both. It kept only giving me the option one way (closing the one I wanted to keep). Could it just be coincidence? Sure, but as soon as my balance was zero on the card I wanted to keep it gave me that option. Again, this was my experience but obviously might be different for someone else.
Combining worked for me with a zero balance only on the card I got rid of. That was 2 wks ago. GL OP!
