I don't think comenity bank is BK friendly...

I tried two years ago for the Virgin Visa with Comenity.  Denied due to my bk.  I tried again last week, again denied due to my bk which is now over 7 years old.

i havent applied for their visa/mc cards but i was approved for their goodys card 2yrs ago with a 5yr old ch13 reporting.  got regular cli's too.  i assume  the criteria used to approve store cards and visa/mc are likely different.   now that my bk has fallen off ive been thinking about getting their fuel rewards card.

I hear that Comenity isn't to BK friendly with their major cards...store cards less so.  Other than my Overstock, I don't have anything else with them.  Did have PayPal Credit for a while but moved away from that after I received my PayPal MasterCard backed by Sync.

I applied for the Virgin and Orbitz cards a couple years ago when I had a BK reporting and was denied because of it. I called recon and was told that they would not approve them with a BK reporting. I then applied for the Buckle card and was instantly approved. The bank that issues the Visa cards is Comenity Capital Bank and the one that issues the store cards is Comenity Bank. Comenity Capital Bank has higher standards for issuing credit. I was just approved for the Virgin Visa since my BK was gone from my reports back in February.

Comenity and Comenity Capital both underwite major's just depends which one they both also both underwrite store cards.  Store cards are pretty easy to get from either with a BK, but majors I have not heard of anyone getting one of those who has a BK on their report although someone could possibly exist with this and I just havent seen it.

I received the Sportsman Guide Visa with a chapter 7 reporting (@ 20 months out) on a SCT. Flat out rejected quickly for the BJ's MC.

Haven't had an issue on store cards via the SCT or cold app (good limits too). I did not burn them.

I just tried for the Orbitz card and got the 7-10 day message.

I'm sure its a denial due to my BK.

It might be a blessing in disguise lol.

I also got a Sportsman's Guide VISA through sct with CH. 7 BK reporting but they closed it later for too many inquires.
