This is not a hard and fast rule. For you, the biggest reward is between 3-5%. That is not true for everyone.

Do you mean the FICO simulator at bankrate.com? Its categories of util are (a) 0%-9%; (b) 10%-19%; etc. so it does not distinguish 3-5%. Ditto what cheddar said about buckets.

Yes, Legz, I agree. I mentioned the 10% rule of thumb in my first post.
