I fill out the entire form, feel kinda proud of my answers(for personal reasons), but then I click the "submit"(or whatever it's called button) on the bottom, and absolutely nothing happens. Ive tried it on 3 different browsers(Vivaldi, Firefox, and Internet Explorer)...I even just logged in for my free score and clicked a button to access the application from there, and still no dice. I fill it all out, and when i click that fat "check now" button at the bottom, nothing happens...Im not sure when this started happened, I think it's been at least a month.
The odd thing is this worked for me probably as recently as 3 months ago, and I was getting pre-approvals at the lowest rate from them for a decent while, despite my less than perfect history with them. This is likely my next card, unless Pizza1 or someone else who IIBed them will give me some coaching for a Chase card. I'd really like to get them close together, if possible, but right now I'm frustrated by the pre qual not working. Is it a pop up issue? If so, that would be ridiculous.
EDIT: After the staff saw fit to eliminate the number of messages we posted from under our avatar, I no longer had any incentive not to post. I had been keeping my number at 666. Maybe they made the change to lure me back in, after missing my contributions. I will try to give the public what they want, like the advice that was given in the epic movie, Gladiator. I cant be an AJC, but I do kinda have my own thing going, and it seems useful. Anyhow, thank you for your support.
Is it safe to assume you're using This Site to check for prequals and not the old one? if so, I'd try clearing your browser(s) cache and even try incognito mode in Chrome. I have no problems as of moments ago.
Welcome back btw... and no one can ever fill the shoes of AJC cuz superjoe doesn't wear any.
(or so I've heard...)
(EDIT: I didnt mean for the message to be so long, the situation got me very worked up/enthusiastic. Maybe some folks can read it while at work, and the length will actually be helpful instead of otherwise, lol. Im not suggesting that unless it is something they already do, by the way).
Hi, I clicked through that link just to make sure(I usually use a search engine to reach it), and still no dice. I gave you kudos anyhow, because you were the only person to reply, and I greatly appreciate it.
It frustrated me SO much that I did something rare for me, I actually called Discover and spoke at great length, using Internet Explorer(I usually use Vivaldi, made to be what Opera was supposed to be before they sold out), and was unable to resolve anything. They had me clear the cache and confirm my pop up blocker was not on, and that I was not in private mode.
While on hold while the CSR appealed to their supervisor, I recalled that I signed up for their credit monitoring service awhile back, and maybe doing that had an impact? That's the one thing I can think of that may be different on my end since the last time the "application" worked for me. However, maybe a few weeks ago I thought of that and tried logging into that first and doing it, without success. It's not like the wheel starts spinning and stops...just absolutely nothing happens. On Vivaldi I even right clicked the button and selected "open", and it just then goes to a blank page.
I realize this isnt exactly a credit-related question(though in an overall sense it is), but I figured someone on this large board would be computer savvy enough to help, right? I guess it's not a huge issue, because Ive prequalified before after years of not doing so(IIBed them maybe 7+ years ago), but I wanted to do it anyhow...and cant imagine I'm the only one this happens to(it's been months now). Actually, it feels quite crummy that on this entire board, it only happens to me....seriously. It worked maybe 4 or 5 months ago....I'm on a desktop too, old school, so you'd think that would eliminate some potential issues. Folks on here get that it can feel empty and frustrating when you have your ducks in a row and nothing happens, so I figured I'd make another appeal for help after just getting off the phone with a very pleasant CSR in the Delaware office(both her and the one who transferred me made it a point to say they were in the Delaware office....apparently they get it's a sellling point to some folks that they dont farm out their CSR jobs to foreigners working subsistence wages, in order to increase their profit margin. I wont comment either way, because I dont want to alienate anyone on here any further, lol).
Any ideas? The last resort they said was to unplug the router for 20 seconds, which I have not yet tried due to lack of expectations. Am I really the only person this happens to? It's not like I dont already have enough issues with feeling alienated in this society, lol. Anyone think the universe is trying to prevent me from making this my next card?
Part of this now is the desire to be ready in case it happens elsewhere. What can effect 3 browsers like that? Thanks in advance for being a great community, regardless of whatever outcome happens.
If I recall correctly, I experienced it not working for me neither for awhile for Google Chrome. Would work with Edge and FF, but not Chrome. Think clearing cookies/cache and/or something else I did eventually led to it working. But I do know for a fact no matter what I do, some sites and what not just won't work in Chrome for me. IE: Home Depot pre-qual page and a few other sites. Guess it might be a privacy setting built in that some of the coding used on these sites end up getting blocked or something.
Resetting your router/modem/connection wouldn't have any effect on it what so ever, assuming you're not having any other connectivity related issues. It'd be like telling you to hop on 1 foot, while eating a hot dog and give it a try. If it magically worked afterwards, it'd be purely coincidental and nothing more. Computer might if you don't turn it off/on regularly and just keep it on and/or sleep mode. It'd be software/computer related to that specific pages coding. If you've tried Edge and/or FF too (or if you wanna test out a new one called 'Brave') and it doesn't work, after clearing cache and what not, maybe try a different device or something. Like I said, I used to have the issue and I resolved it some how, but Home Depot still 100% does this for me while in Chrome.
Have you tried it incognito/private browsing mode? That’s the only thing I can think of that would eliminate a few variables.

We missed you too CaptainJ, Dont worry, even I cant be AJC, that guy is one Discover short of a MAXED credit card
Better off not getting the pre-qual page to work as worked fine for me yesterday and gave me a awesome 1k limit which i told them they could keep and had them in-turn decline my app while on the phone (had to call for verification) .. They said but you will miss out on the BT and I said really at 1k lol..
In all seriousness if you your profile is strong enough don't bother with the pre-qual as i was hit by a HP if you are trying to avoid that.
EDIT: Thanks to all who replied in this thread. I appreciate your effort, as well as the antics of AJC which Ive missed
Thanks for that info, CC! Ive been away awhile, but your name is so familiar to me on here that it's hard for me to picture you getting only a 1k limit!!
Did I read that correctly that they gave you a HP for the prequal page?
I did get prequaled in the past, but I still like to see it I guess, because I IIBed them. Do folks think that would automatically require a recon, even if the prequal page worked for me in the past? It didnt show a limit of course, but showed the same interest rate others had mentioned.
UPDATE: I gave up on trying on this computer, and while I dont care to use my phone for such things, I was able to recover my laptop from where it was being held, and successfully was prequalified.
The offer I got on the IT was 14 months of 0% on purchases and transfers, and a 13.49% interest rate after. I dont remember, but is that good/the standard rate others were getting? And do folks think I can get it automatically without a recon, even though I IIBed them a bit over 7 years ago? I remembered being so excited when I first got prequaled with them, even though I was not yet ready to apply. I still want to wait a month or 2 until my last 2 cards reach a year in age, with hopes that may effect the bottom line.

Good prequal offer.. I don't believe Discover really keeps a memory if you IIB them.. They are kinda like Cap1 if i recall right can burn them whether a CO or a BK and get back in with them.. I think my Miles card although a bad CL at 4.25k my apr is at 12.49% which at the time was 11.x apr, but due to rate hikes we are at 12.x now.. So you might have the best apr offered for the IT card now which is good. My pre-qual on the IT card that i later turned down due to the CL was 19.x.. Didn't really care about APR as PIF card and would of just used for 5% cats, but wasnt mean to be. Yes it was a HP once I actually applied vs the SPs you hear about people getting recently against Experian.
I've had a similar issue before and have found that turning off my "Ad Blocker" will fix the problem. Even today when I go to pay my Lowes bill I have to turn off my AdBlocker - does not happen on any other Sync account - you'd think they would be all the same, they pretty much look the same - but I think Ghostery (adblocker) gets confused with various javascript interactions.
Just a guess....
