Amazing I only have 5-7 inquiries on my reports. I am barely able to contain myself. I read all the details of every new card that comes out because I might need it!
Is anyone else like this or am I all alone?
There are some people here who have a problem applying for everything they can. That is poor credit management. There is a far greater number who are constantly tempted to apply but are able to restrain themselves for the most part, so that is not unusual to feel that way especially when you are starting out. My first year and a half was full of anticipation. Now I am slowing down a bit, but I am always thinking about what credit moves I want to make in 3-6 months.

Better to be a credaholic than a SPENDaholic! I'm ... uh, er, um ... frugile ... so every dollar has to be pried out of my death grip. :-)

Me too! Nice to meet another frugal person -- my boyfriend calls me a squirrel (storing my acorns away).

Another frugalholic. Do that more than credaholic. It's easier to plan my future goals with credit, now that I have the basic building blocks I want.

I grok this. It took every ounce of willpower yesterday to stop myself from trying to hop aboard the Cap One Venture gravy train.
Agreed. If not for the 3 credit pulls and that all of my reports are frozen, I would've probably followed the masses. What I do not understand is Cap One's grinchiness when it comes to cli's but they seemingly will hand out $20000 lines, like they were candy. Where's the logic in that?

Sigh I'm definitely guilty here. I have a little over 600k in available credit and still.have the desire to app for that next best card!
Oh my, this is amazing! What's your AAofA and highest limit? You have obviously done something right because your scores aren't tanked like a frequent app'er.
P.S. If Creditaddict offers to be your "sponsor" ... fugitaboutit! ;-)
I'm a credaholic new to credits with 10mo AAoA, 11 inquiries of which two were from rental apps.
I suppose I'm in the minority here. The cards I have are to help establish more in the future, but not a LOT more.
I'm looking more toward needs:
5% Cash Back Categories - Discover IT (this is a maybe!)
Gas and Groceries and Amazon - Barclay Sallie Mae, Amex BCE or BCP.
Dining and Travel - Chase Sapphire Preferred.
Apple - Barclay Apple Rewards.
A car - Installment loan through possibly Carmax.
That's pretty much it.
The store cards I have were fairly easy to get, but that doesn't encourage me to get cards for places I don't shop. And there are better deals offered when Chase has department stores as a 5% category. Right now i'm laser-focused on paying down utilization to make it possible to finance a vehicle (which is a HUGE need).
