I have not consistently used my Aff* debit to pay my SYW card, no. I've done several small payments under $20. There is a good amount of discussion on Flyertalk about this as well.
bockrr on DoC mentioned a program that stops giving cash back once you exceed $25, I'm thinking this may be Aff* but I'm not sure.
I also haven't checked whether my debit cash back posted, I should know around 3/1.
Interesting. Bought a Vanilla Incomm Sutton Visa at Walmart supercenter self-checkout, I was able to specify the amount on the machine without a human.
My available credit decreased as expected, but I didn't get the expected text message that I made a purchase without the card present. (The alert is on and has been working.) Did an online test payment right after, which did trigger the text message.
At least this time the transaction actually freakin completed! (This time I used self-check instead of human, different walmart, different phone.)
i activated an offer of "spend $750 to get $50", however, i don't think i'll be able to complete it within 30 days this time around. Will SYW not give me these types of offers going forward?

Thank you. I suspect you have to call to pay your bill with a debit card? Do you need to speak to a person or is it in the phone menu?

It's in the automated phone menu, but after I used it once on the phone it appeared in the web interface too. I should be able to calculate whether the do-it-on-the-phone method works, and also whether the do-it-online-once-it-has-been-added-as-a-payment-method method works when the cash back posts, I will let you know.
While I'm at it, I paid off a different CC through paypal bill pay. I think that's already been tested with Aff* but I'll report back.

The algorithm seems pretty mysterious, but I did fail to complete an offer like that and then received another similar one the next month.
The cashback debit I use doesn't cap out at $25, but rather gives me $0.25 cashback for transactions over $25. So if I make a bunch of $25 payments it's essentially 1% cashback on credit card payments but it's utility decreases with higher amounts. Some pitfalls:
1. Tons of payments is vaguely suspicious to one or both parties involved (debit or credit issuer)
2. It's a lot of hassle...1% cb (untaxed) vs about 0.5% via interest (taxed) to just leave the money in a fidelity/discover/SoFi etc account at near 5% apy in current environment until the autopay takes it.
There's a few other recent problems too. Last week PayPal seems to have broken billpay to credit card issuers. Unclear if they are killing it or this is some temporary issue. My Chase, USAA, AOD are gone from saved billers and can't be found in the search, my remaining cards no longer work to pay by debit... although I haven't tried deleting/readding them.
Also I haven't tested this but I vaguely recall the Citi SYW management site saying somewhere you were limited to 5 payments a month? Couldn't find it just now and probably only applies to website payments and not phone calls but don't know for sure.

Like TD said through phone menu and then it appears in the website, plus the website will now allow you to add more debit cards after the first one. Wonder if using it through the website will work with more/different gift cards...almost dead since now SYW visas don't work for payment anymore.

My own approach has always been to activate an offer even if I'm positive that I'm not going to meet or try to meet the spend threshold, never had a problem with getting offers. They did stop with the unrealistic-for-me thresholds on gas/grocery/restaurant offers and lowered them to ones I could meet either organically or with the occasional Amazon gift card.

If Citi catches on that people are playing that game don't be surprised if they prioritize plugging that loophole.
