It's not that hard to do. My youngest card is over 6 years old.

I had an episode a few months back as I was app'ing my little heart out until I applied for a CC from US Bank and got an approval for $1,500 then it was "noticed" that I had app'd for credit way too many times ,way to soon (according to them) so they lowered it by $1000-OUCH!!! that was the brick wall I hit, so with that experience, I STOPPED completely! Doesn't mean that I was close to app'ing again but remembered my experience so it made me exit outta the application. I am going to let my garden grow because I really want a new car this time next year and I wanna go in there very well prepared to get what I WANT..lol...not what my credit will allow me to. Beginning the new year with better credit and hope to end it with excellent credit.....Good luck to ya!
Gee and I feel like I have a lot of cards. I have AMEX Zync, AMEX Blue Sky Preferred, Chase OnePass Plus, Citi Thank You Preferred, Banana Republic, Home Depot, and Nordstroms. I have 7 credit cards...I feel like I have too many! hehe.
I have no reason to app for anything next year unless it's an emergency, though all my mortgage inquiries will fall over in March/April next year thankfully. I'm going to let cards age and new accounts to settle. I lost a few months off of my AAoA opening BR, Nord, and Chase...so I'll have to be careful. Just hope AMEX doesn't get worried. If they FR me I'll just close 'em, no big deal.
