I don't know about throwing all of your balances onto one card, I think you have to worry about utilization number percentages, see the thread closing cards by Fuse....

that's why i'm finally posting here after learning a ton of tips for the entire week.

i just really want a BIG BIG card credit. i need help...

For me I applied for 2 cards at the same time so they pulled 2 times. In your case you are apping as a present citi card holder. I am not sure what kind of method they use for the approval in your case. For me they pulled TU. If you want a card then you have to app for it. Chances of getting a hard inq is high but again you'll never know until you try.

Which CR do you have 38? Citi most likely pulls TU. How many inq's do you have on your TU?

I'm in the same boat - my util is 45% right now, I don't want any more inquiries (I don't have that much, but don't want any unecessary ones either). I think our plan of action should be to pay down our cards to bring down our utilization, watch our score. I think if you consolidated your BoAs that would be good. Then apply - BoA gave me $15,000 limit with 0% interest until April, 2009 - but I didn't have too many cards at that time, I only had two CU cards with $5,000 limits that were maxed and another CU card with a $12,000 limit and a $10,000 balance, so that BT helped my utilization, then I paid down $5,000, but I am afraid to go for another card... and the word I think I have been receiving is pay it down...
