Iberia Credit Card

Applied for this card on Friday. Got an email that the application has been received and is under review. Will get back in a few days. Has any body any idea about this card. I have heard that it is not a very easy card to get. Just an impluse decision to apply. My scores are in the mid-700s.

Re: Iberia Credit Card

Iberia used to be Pulaski Bank ,,,  and they were similar to Simmons Bank in terms of being hard to get,,, neither were instant approval cards,

I looked at the Pulaski cards a couple years ago when they still issued a low fixed rate, it was 6.5%,,Simmons was 5.5 IIRC ,,

Pulaski switched to a variable rate as I was looking and I passed on their card, since a low rate fixed card was what I wanted, as they are otherwise unremarkable, other than they were/are hard to get...

Good luck,,

Re: Iberia Credit Card

Got the denial letter yesterday, no obvious reason. Got approved for citi Diamond preffered rewards Card with limit 11000 the very same day. My applying spree (2 applications) is now over for atleast one year.

What reason did they list?

Re: Iberia Credit Card

I have had this card since 1994. In 2007 they were bought out by IBERIA . They have always been a very conservative lender but also fair regarding Credit Limits, basing  them upon ASSETS/ABILITY TO PAY.

Also, it was mentioned about the APR guideleines shown on their website. I would like to say that I have a FIXED RATE on my card and always have. What I think some people fail to grasp is that info on a site is a BROAD OUTLOOK at whats available and after a relationship has been established with the bank, terms, conditions, CL's etc are often offered to customers that may not be offered to the general public.

All Credit Cards do this. I see many things mentioned on this site that are just factually not true, but there is certainly no need to call someone out on them.

Just never be put off by what people say, because for every person who "hates" a certain lender, there is another person who has only had excellent service from them. It is all dependent on your personal situation. Don't be misled by others
