Inquiry question

Hi everyone, Question regarding inquires:

I am currently 19 so I have just started establishing credit and now have 17 open trade lines. With these 17 lines (1 of them being auto) obviously there were 17+ inquiries (18 in total 1 app denied and will not approve recon)

My question is that I will be gardening but when can I apply for another card if I see a good offer. I am responsible and always PIF and only purchase what I can afford but have many cards for all different types of rewards.

I know the 3 milestones for effecting credit with inquires are 6 12 and 24 months but when do banks not look at inquiries so heavily? Is it when they drop off at 2 years?

Re: Inquiry question

Generally 6 mos. However lots of inqs may need like 12 or the full 24 mos.

I would say wait a year of aging on those inqs. I had a ton from my auto shop like 10 - 12 or so. I waited about a 9 - 12 mos. then applied for 3 cards and instant approved. However everyones profiles will vary.
