Hey guys,
I had a 15 month 0 APR promo on my cap one card. It's about to come to an end soon. I have about $1500ish of balance on that card. I'm curious if the next month after 0 APR ends, will i be charged interest rat on that amount for the whole 15 months or just for the one month since the 0 APR promo ended?
I can pay it off if I move my payments around but if its not gonna charge me interest for the whoel 15 past months then I won't have to worry that much about payuing it off in a few months.
Balance present at the time when promotional APR expires is subject to trailing interest, in your case that's $1500.
If this was a store card with deferred interest, then interest you'd have to pay would have been accruing from beginning (original balance), and it would be due even if you only had $1.00 in balance once deferred interest period was over.
Thank you. I realize I need to pay interest on the 1500$ after promo ends. But will it be for all 15 months or it'll be just for the single month after 0% apr i.e. next month?
Interest starts to accumulate once you're past the grace period (due date on the last statement in 0% promo).
Whatever balance is present, it's subject to interest accrual from that date forward.
So, it's not "next month" it starts after your due date is past and balance is not paid in full

It depends on what your promo was. Was it "no interest if paid in full by xxx date", or "0% APR on purchases for 15 months"?
If the former, you would owe interest for all 15 months. If the latter, only a single month (the clock starts ticking after your 15 months are up, in other words).
