Hi, I may have an interesting new data point available, about the rewards program for BEFCU's VISA card with as low as 4.99% F go-to APR: if I am understanding what I read on their ScoreCard rewards program page correctly, it looks like they have a "Redeem2Erase" program, which appears to be similar to Cap1's Purchase Eraser, but in the case of BEFCU, their Redeem2Erase feature is not just limited to travel purchases as per Cap1. What I found to be especially fascinating -- and also similar to Cap1 -- is that rewards that are redeemed using their "Erase" feature have up to 2x the value of BEFCU purchases redeemed say for example as cash back. For instance, using Redeem2Erase, 2,000 rewards points can be redeemed for $20, whereas 2,000 rewards points redeemed for cash back yields $10. Also unlike Cap1's Purchase Eraser feature, for BEFCU's ScoreCard rewards "Erase" option, it looks like you need to have a minimum of 2,000 rewards points available to redeem
As copied and pasted from BEFCU's ScoreCard program's "Help" info about their "Erase" option:
"Life is full of limitations. How to use your hard earned loyalty points should not be one of them. Redeem2Erase provides the flexibility to redeem reward points to erase recent merchant transactions. Simply pick a date, pick a transaction, and redeem your points to receive your transaction credit. Congratulations! You just paid for your purchase with points
