GOt in the mail today checks from Barclays to be used.
They are at 22.9% APR, what the heck. They make it sound like its such a good deal.
I have the Barclays Apple card.
Yes its a high rate, but doesn't seem crazy for a cash advance. The only cards I have that are far better for cash advances are USAA, which is same as the purchase APR and with no fee, and NFCU, which only charges an additional 2% over the low purchase APR. I still have never done a cash advance on either of those.
Weird. I got some today that are 0% until August 2013. Are you sure you read the correct print? I know they also state what the APR will be after the promotional date ends.
Starting Score: 648CS800, how long have you had the account? I used to get the same checks at the higher interest rate during the first year I had the account. More recently, I have been getting better offers as the other posters have mentioned. This is just an anecdotal observation, but once you build your credit history with them, they may send better offers in the mail.
I avoid any checks from any of my CC's like the plague. They are like the lepers in the world of letters that I receive.
They are immediately shunned and banished to death by shredder. I just make sure to toss a little ketchup on the envelope so that it goes down easier for my poor little shredder. He's eaten so many ridiculous APR's that he gets bloated from time to time.

Congrats on 0%...I got 3% until the end of the year.
I got them too. Mine are 0% until April 2013. (But mine came with my April statement, making them a 1 year offer). They obviously make a customized offer based on credit and history. Interesting.
