Is disputing an amount of a debt with the CRA the same as acknowledging the debt?

I hope not! If so, I made a big boo-boo last night. I disputed the amount (original credit line was $200 now they say I owe $1750).  PLEASE tell me this won't reset the SOL!!

Most likely it will just come back with an "updated" or "verified" status. As far as I know it won't hurt anything else. I've gotten that response on several occasions in the past with no further repercussions.

And there is always a slim chance of no response from the creditor in which case it will have to be deleted.
