J/c, does anyone know if it is possible to apply for the Cap1 Spark card as a personal cc; i.e., if you don't have a business? Or are only business customers eligible to apply? Thanks
You would NOT be the 1st with a Spark and no 'real' business...
I'm not sure you'd want to be UP THEIR FACES with it though
but there are many many
Joe Blow & Company
Spark Card holders out there...they run and report POERSONAL credit so a sole proprietor
of 'your business' doesn't matter much to them but remember your debt ratios DO MATTER
with regard to YOUR personal Fico scores.
I'm assuming you're aware they'll still do 3 HP's just like their personal cards...
If you have a specfic 'unique' value prop for the Spark (other than marketing) make it's value is a 'real' value
otherwise WHY the Spark?

Thanks for your helpful thoughts and comments. My main interest in the Spark was mainly b/c of the recent threads where posters had mentioned about being able to apply within Cap1's brick-and-mortar bank branches for a Spark, except unlike the online app, apparently Cap1 bank branches are running a promo currently with the Spark card with 2% cash rewards, also with the AF permanently waived? I technically already have a grandfathered Cap1 NHM Ultra card with 2% cashback and no AF, but I have not been able to successfully able to get Cap1 to give me a CLI on it (perhaps "too much of a good thing" sorta thing there, from their perspective?). Since the NHM Ultra card is no longer being offered in their present product lineup, I just thought maybe applying in-branch for the perma-waived AF Spark card might be a good way to get another AF-free 2% cashback card?
I have one as a Sole Proprietor. If I rememebr corrrectly the FEIN field is optional (I entered my FEIN) as a SP so yeah you can get one. You might have to make up a business name. I don't remember my app all that well.
