Is it possible to get some interest you have paid over the year refunded?

After realizing the enormous amount of interest I have paid to Chase on my CSP over the year, I'm wondering if there is any way to get them to refund or credit my account for any of it? Maybe as a one time courtesty?

What would be your basis for that request?

This might be the most absurd thing I have ever read on any forum ever. Is this a serious question?..lmao

Pay in full and don't apply for cards that have annual fees then. Chase owes you nothing.

"because I didn't realize borrowing money, you know, like, costed money.."

I actually want OP to call into chase and ask, then post the answer he gets;

I'm thoroughly curious as to how a rep would handle that question xD

"........ no."

While I agree that it's unlikey that this request would be granted, the same "analysis" (Chase owes you nothing) could be used for requests to lower APR, refund late fees or (on some cards) waive AF, and these requests are sometimes granted

But if that's what they were referring to then they should have worded it better. Sounds like they just don't want to owe up to paying interest that they caused.

I would say you have zero chance if you don't ask.  However, you might have a better chance of success if you asked them to lower your rate for next year.

Old saying, "nothing ventured nothing gained." Likely they would be more inclined to lower your account apr as another poster suggested.

Im sure they are referring to just what they said, they want a refund on interest paid, which we all agree is unlikely to happen.   I was just pointing out that saying "Chase doesn't owe you anything", which, while true, isn't particularly useful.    Good customers routinely get "breaks", as in APRs reduced (despite knowing that is what they were when I applied for the card), late fees reversed (even though I did pay late and understood that late fees are part of the agreement) etc.   If OP was a valuable enough and Chase wanted to keep the relationship, it's possible that he/she could get a one-time courtesy credit.   In fact, come to think of it, when an issuer reversed a late fee for me, they also removed the interest charge....
