Is it wrong for me not to want Capital One in my Portfolio

had a not so pleasant experience with them, didn't like the customer service, I have no balances with them just 1 closed platinum card that was PIF.

Am I missing out anything? Should I look at them in the future just to have a tradeline with them?

No.

With the prime cards you have in your signature line, why would you even consider a CapOne?  From what I've been reading on here, even their prime cards have the same terrible "Peggy" service...

I just don't see the need for you to have/need one at this stage of the game.

Re: Is it wrong for me not to want Capital One in my Portfolio

Excuse my French when I say this, but HELL NO!

I am also looking to close out my two Capone cards this year. Now, Capone has a purpose. Once that purpose has been fulfilled its time to move on. I personally thank them for helping me to build a stronger credit profile and I will not miss these cards, nor shall I feel bad about leaving these cards.

Remember, everything in the credit world has a purpose.

Re: Is it wrong for me not to want Capital One in my Portfolio

Just asking because my gf and I got in a tiff about it since she banks with them, all I said was " I don't know why you love cap1, but I was kind of being a douche.

But her credit is really bad right now and i am trying to fix it...she got a letter in the mail to appear in court friday for garnishment because of her school loans, anyone knows what this means ?

If I had your collection of cards, Cap1 wouldn't even be in vocabulary let alone my portfolio Smiley Very Happy

This is not good. She is going to have to make a court appearance to fight for her right as the borrower to not have her wages garnished. Lending companies only do this when you default on your loan payments and have not made any attempt to make any payments. If the judge rules in there favor (lenders) her paycheck will be garnished---they take money out of her check...Until the debt is paid in full. This could also lead to a Judgment being placed on her credit reports which is also not good. Unfortunately student loans can not be included in BK so filing BK is not an option here.

I wish you guys the best of luck in court.

Well, CapOne serves their purpose, but when it's time to cut 'em loose, it's time to cut 'em loose.
