Why would Sony not be eligible just because it's co-branded? None of the stipulations say thatWith any issuer, cobranded cards usually work a bit differently as they are not purely backed by the issuer themselves. So the policies do not always apply the same way to cobrands because the agreements between issuer/cobrand company may not allow certain things. On the Sony card, as far as I can tell, you can only redeem towards Sony products/the Sony catalog - to ensure Sony gets your business, they won't allow Cap One to let you take a statement credit.
In this case, Sony may very well say "you can't allow a customer to take the limit from Sony and merge it into one of your cards" as they don't want people ditching the card. Of course one can just outright close it anyway, but this way Sony doesn't allow you to get anything out of closing it, such as retaining the limit.
I could be off base, it's just my theory.
This is likely the case. Of course, it may simply take Cap One some time to allow more options. There was a point in time when I couldn't use the LUV button to make CLI requests on the Sony Card, but then it just worked one day. I plan on checking back in periodically to see if anything changes.

I combined my QS Visa with my QS MC (rolled it all into the MC).

yfan, since you are one of the few that ive seen been able to combine online, can I ask? was your qs mc or qs visa ever a card that was with another bank and got switched into a cap1? also, how many total cards did you have with cap one before the combination and how many were eligible?

Nope, those were both CapOne originals.

Just the 2, and the Visa had the zero balance. I rolled it into the MC.

It's interesting that you would assume that simply because no other CCC that I'm aware of that allows limit moving or consolidation (Chase, BofA, Citi) seems to have that specification. At the end of the day, the card is ISSUED by that bank, and they bank can pretty much do what they want with their products lol
What happens to rewards when you combine cards under the new Cap One consolidation rules?
For example if you roll a venture with 50,000 "miles" into a QS, do the rewards come with and and convert to straight cash back ($500)? Or do they remain miles under a separate category in rewards? Or do you lose them entirely?
Co-branded cards are issued by Capital One Financial, which is seperate from the "regular" CapOne. I found this out when I was applying for my GM card. The app glitched and I had to finish it over the phone. The CSR was having trouble verifying some information so I told her I already have other CapOne accounts so couldn't she just look at those to verify it? She then asked if I was sure I had other accounts because she couldn't see them. I told her her I had a QS card and a checking and savings account. She then replied "Oh, yeah, we're Financial, those accounts are with the other side, the bank, we're seperate from them and I can't see any of those accounts."
Also, you can't link a co-branded card with your other CapOne accounts, I've tried. The online help CSR stated that functionality isn't available and if I want to service my GM card online I have to set up a seperate online account directly from the main GM card webpage. He could not give me a timeframe as to when they would be able to offer cobranded account management through the main CapOne website. So if you can't link it, you can't combine it is what I understand.

Account Combination
No Cards Eligible
Sorry! None of your cards are currently eligible for an account combination.
Card Eligibility Requirements
- Card accounts must be in good standing
- Card accounts must be open for at least 6 months
- One card account must have a $0 balance and no pending transactions
- Card accounts must be linked in your online banking profile
I have a QS from 2010 with $3k limit and $0 balance
I have a Spark from 2013 with $2k limit and $0 balance
Sony from 2014 with $2250 limit and $0 balance
Venture One $7000 limit with $5.50 balance that is only 4 months old
and Venture not showing yet (have not received card)
I expected QS and Sony at minimum to be options!?
What gives?!
Hey CA - I tried it the first day baller posted the message and it worked for me for accounts I had > 6 months old and had $0 balances. I did go to the Cap1 site last night and this morning and the Account Combination link has been removed.
