It might be a glitch where the denial comes but, then they do go back and look at things or run it through again if they spot a spike in denials. It seems odd though when it comes to this type of remorse from a lender. Out of all of the lenders we see around here this is a strange thing that bucks the trend. I wouldn't count on this happening often though but definitely something to keep an eye on.
Since you are keeping tabs Austin, I will provide you a bit more info. I opened my Discover in 10/16. Due to Christmas and some excessive vacationing I have been carrying balances since. I have paid large payments every month but not paid off. I have hit the luv button a few days after statement close every month. So far, no go. This past month, I got the instant denial followed just a few days later by a $200 increase.
If you are following Amex, same happened with them at the 6 month mark. 2-3 day message, noticed a $500 increase, received the denial letter , received the auto CLI letter.
Both of these were apporved with borderline scores and CLs that reflected such.
Discover is totally wacky. My card unsecured in January - $200, no raise or anything. I asked for a CLI last Wed, got the 3 day message, and I went to look this morning, no increase, and the CLI page just went back to the normal screen like nothing happened. No denial letter, secure message, or e-mail. I really don't get discover.
Leezzy..... don't worry, you'll get something in the mail in a couple of weeks. They're slow to mail things out. Heck I CLI online and 2 days later I see it online and then 4 days more I get an e-mail confirming the CLI was approved.
Honestly, I don't care either way...but some sort of anything saying it was denied would of been useful. The same thing happened when I opened a checking account with them. No e-mail at all with account details, you just have to wait for them to decide to mail you something. If I don't hear anything from them in the next two weeks or so about a denial, maybe i'll just try again - though citibank is notoriously slower than even discover...so we shall see.
