JFCU (Justice Federal)questions

so i applied for 3000cl jfcu Visa Classic on the 22nd of june. i was approved and i asked if it could be a higher limit they said yes and approved me for 5k. I signed up for nsa paid the 20 dollars. sent jfcu all the paperwork they asked for. then they sent me my application back to me in the mail cuz i didnt fill it out completely (the lady told me to just put name social and sign and date it ugh) so i filled it out and sent it back that was on the 2nd of july. they received it again on friday the 11th. during this whole process i been calling ever 5 days or so to check on the progress. last call i made to them was yesterday and they said everything was in order with my paperwork but it has been sent to management for final approval of membership with the credit union. the lady said this was normal and it could take up to TWO WEEKS!!!

so my questions are;

is this normal for management to look over everything to make final decision? Does it really take two whole weeks?

And is it normal for this entire process to take close to a month? (will be a month and a week if it really takes 2 weeks for management to make decision)

i really hope they dont find a reason to deny me cuz i know i need to be a member of the credit union to get the 5k card i was approved for.

thanks in advance for any help u can provide me with

Yes, this is very normal for them. They are extremely slow and do things their own way. I hope it works out for you and all your doc's are in order. I'm still submitting paperwork after being approved on June 9. They are constantly changing things. First paystubs, then tax transcripts a week later. All for a 5k card !! I'm almost there.

Re: JFCU (Justice Federal)questions

Maybe yes maybe no. If they ask you can always explain your situation.

As far as all the posts about JFCU, I'm the only one that they asked for tax transcripts AND I'm the only one where they pulled all three credit reports as far I know.

Normally it's only paystubs and verification by phone.

Good Luck.

Are you being sarcastic here?  ('m not attacking.  I'd just like to know about your experience with JFCU.)

This seems like a LOT of drama for a CC although I guess it's better to ask for such info upfront rather than later.  Personally, it seems like more hassle than it's worth, but once you've taken the hard, I can certainly understand your desire to see the process through.

Re: JFCU (Justice Federal)questions

do they call your work supervisor??? i know they want to verify but arent paystubs enough? it just seems really rude for them to call my work and ask my supervisor questions about me. definitely not good for business

Re: JFCU (Justice Federal)questions

They might. Other CU'S do, most definitely NFCU. It's a chance you take when applying, they have the right to verify information provided before extending a loan product.

IMO Justice is not worth the effort. There are better ponds to fish in.

Alliant CU is much, much better!

Agreed! They caused me more headache than any other credit product I've applied for and after everything they claimed they "could not verify identity" so I was declined for membership!

On the other hand Alliant CU is nice. I just applied for them. They fund your share account with the first $5 for free and they give you preapprovals while filling out the online app for membership. All I had to do was accept the CC and that was all. No income verification, nothing. I haven't received my membership packet or CC yet, but 3 days after my application they are already reporting to EX.
