Jared Jewelry Store Card CLI

I was speaking with a customer service rep about how I would go about receiving a credit limit increase. I currently have 5.5k and I am looking to add some more to that limit for an engagement and wedding ring purchases. She stated that I would just go to the store and they would only pull a soft inquiry. Has anyone experienced a cli from Jared's with only a soft inquiry?

I am also in NJ and I don't remember which CRA they pull from.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have never seen a soft done... you go in store, they call and ask for CLI, rep puts on hold and comes back with answer after hard... not sure why I need to go in store do that!

keep in mind a lot of the promo APR's require 20% down frequently.

Jared is same as Kay right? Im confusing the ones together!

They do the increase in the store only because they want you to buy something with your new limit.  There is no customer initiated CLI by phone with Sterling Jewelers (Kay and Jared).  It will be a hard pull, not a soft.  However they will usually increase your credit line automatically after 10 months.  I've had an increase like clockwork every 10 months which have been small, but appreciated.
