I think having BECU CC is a good idea as well, higher CL's, lower rates.
I agree, take the hits now (well planned out hits) and look long term seeing as house won't come for years.
I know it's easier then it sounds, but patience is key in the credit world. Your score is great as stated but a thin file is the only thing that is holding you back right now. Don't missed any payments and keep a clean record. Over time, your AAoA will increase and a big limit CC is waiting for you. Keep your inquiries low.
Xmas season is here and I know alot of ppl going to have app fever. Banks do give out higher CL during shopping season but having a good-great score, clean reports and a 3+yrs of AAoA will more than likely get most ppl in the door of a signature card w/a starting CL of $5k minimum.
For sure, patience isn't my strong point ![]()
G19 the (~33k) income does play a big factor into your approval chances for these cards and your time of employment (2 months). I say give yourself at least 1 year with the employer and possibly get a little bump in pay, then try to push into the 3k-5k range. After your in the 5k range, 6 months later you should be able to get a Saphire, great score; but creditors look at the whole picture.
Thanks for your response, any input is greatly accepted.
I still am going to go for the AMEX Zync, and out of all the AMEX CC, I really am most interested in the Costco one, regardless of 2 inquiries (that hopefully one I can dispute?)
I may just stick with the Zync from AMEX, unless it is stupid not to apply for a CC other than Costco since its a soft pull.
Then BECU or Citi may get a try. Fact is, I know I need a deeper credit profile. Would getting my foot in the door with a lower end Chase card (rather than BECU/Citi) help in the future with a Forward or CSP?

Leave Chase alone for a while.
If you want to get your foot in with Chase, just open a checking account.
But if you apply for a CC, they will give you a ridiculously low starting CL and then you'll be stuck with it unless you want to put yourself at the mercy of the CLI-HP Chase Credit Gods.
+1

I won't touch Chase, I promise!
Unfortunately, it seems that I will be playing the HP - CLI with BoA from what I understand on my $1.9k 1-2-3.
An update - I've really been trying to find the AMEX CC to apply for at the time of Zync, I don't travel enough to justify Starwood in my opinion, so from what I have gathered BCE would be a good choice. I am still very interested in the Costco regardless of duped HP!
