.5%, cap 1 has no such program that I am aware of, their minimums for the last few years were 1%, the QS is a 1.5% everyday no limit offer. I would contact the EO immediately if you actually have a ,5%

I think i wasnt clear in my first post what im doing is a comparison versus other 1% cards making the only tiny wow affect to the QuickSilver being .5% .....

UMMM .5% on every day spending "COULD" mean a lot, that just depends on the user though... but for me... now that 1.5% is out there and we have 2% on fidelity... I would be MAD if I had to use anything less than 1.5%!!
we spend thousands a month and over the year that would be big.

IME, Cap1 has been good at waiving the AF. I contact the EO a month before each AF is due and they have yet to say no. Good luck to you.

If the EO can't fix it, it is a fairly easy calculation. First, looks like you have a free 1% card(s). So then, what is your annual spend that you would put on this card. Does the additional 0.5% more than make up the AF you pay. If not, certainly close it. But hopefully the EO can get rid of the AF.
But a lot of the differences we worry about 1%, 1.5% or 2.0% are fairly small unless you are putting a lot of money through. The bigger values come from sign-up bonuses, MS with uncapped 5% cards or travel rewards with smart redemptions. So certainly don't pay money for the 0.5% unless you make a clear profit and you don't get too annoyed with Cap One!

THere are enough issuers out there in general so there is no need to stick with one that is unsatisfactory. Capital One can be hard to work with, especially needing EO help to get much done, but for some, including me,once you get reasonable limits, their cards work well, and the QS, with the ease of redemption, is certainly among the best in its class.

I don't pay attention to anything less than 2% cash back. And once a person has a 2% cash back on all purchases card, it usually takes a lot more than that to be of interest. Though sign-up bonuses are nice for a while.
When I look at the Quicksilver, what I see is a $100 signup bonus. And a card i'll just end up closing after a few months. Yep, I plan to have this card, but not for long...
