Late Payment on Amazon Store Card

I've had the Amazon Store card for a few years and have always paid on time until this month, completely flaked on the payment.

Payment was due on 5/5 and I made the payment last night on 5/11.

I chatted with a rep online and they removed the late payment fee of $25. I asked if the payment will be reported to CRA's as late and the rep advised that it will but it wont affect my credit, has to be 60 days past due to have an impact.

Does anyone have any more insight on this? Does the account have to be past due 60 days to be reported, in which case Synchrony would report a 30 and 60 day past due?

It takes an account 30 days being late before it will be reported to the CRAs. Pretty sure the Synchrony rep was momentarily confused when they gave you that answer.

yeah 30 days late is the standard for it to show up on the reports. Anything less than that is kind of like it didnt happen not counting fees etc

So this wont be reported as a late payment? Due date was 5/5 paid on 5/11 at 10pm.

Most companies give you a grace period to where you wont even have to pay a late fee. For instance, my car has a 10 day grace period where I won't have to pay a late fee. But if you are within a week or two of the due date, highly unlikely that it will get reported. As others have mentioned, it will typically take 30 days late for them to even report.

Good afternoon.
I too was late unknowingly on.my amazon store card. I was late by one day. They also removed the late fee for me as well as confirmed I'd have to be 60 days late for it to ding my credit report.

Also since then it has showed on my credit report as a regular payment(not late).

That is an internal late. 30 days late means if your payment is due on May 1st and you don't pay by June 1st, then it is reported to the bureaus as 30 days late.

Good for them. They didn't have to do that.

And as others have said this should be the end of it.

Thank you for all the feedback. I reconfirmed through another chat session that it wont be reported as late. Now to set up auto pay...

Relax and don't worry. I have paid mine 2-3 weeks late a time or two and have had zero problems.
