Almost reminds me of the time you went for the CNB Crystal VI
That still makes mad thinking about it 😂
He would have to bring up that card.
It's not on their site yet. Although doc application link still works. 🤷🏻♂️

No regerts in the end. Got the SUB and incidental credits with the AU cards so made out with more than I paid AF for. Still, that was the first card I called to cancel before the first year so really weird
mentioning doc is allowed on the forum now? lol

?
When was it not allowed?
I read thru the terms of card and it says "only the portion of the airfare's cost paid for with points is eligible for the discount" So if ticket is $300 and I only have 10k points, the 20% discount applied to 10k points and I'll pay the remaining balance without discount?

I guess the really just means think of the points as worth 1.25cpp (like URs with the CSP). The the points you use to pay take get the "discount", the remaining balance is paid as usual at 1 cent per cent!
Talked to my Merrill guy today....they are not discounting the AF if you have "any" relationship....like how Citi cut the AF of prestige if you had $50K in savings, back in the day.....to bad.....not coming out of "retirement" then......LOL
Yup got the same from my financial advisor at Merrill. She and I both play the game with Cash Rewards and Premium Rewards cards - this one just doesn't have enough "extra" for me to go for it.
I'm reviewing all of my cards to see what the payback was this year and not all are going to survive (Amex Bonvoy Brilliant, Chase United Club, Amex Platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve). No room for another high AF card with similar bennies.
