Sign up bonus (or, technically, a bonus for applying for a new account and satisyfing a minimum spend requirement, not just "signing up").
Like how Premium Rewards gives 50,000 points after $3,000 spend on a new account.
When you do a PC with BofA, you don't get the sign up bonus
Is it possible to have both a Premium Rewards card an an Elite? I know it's a bit superfluous, but it might be good to keep the more basic one around as protection in case the extra 25% value on BofA travel redemptions goes away.

You can have both. I was able to have both but I did a PC from premium card to travel card. I can transfer points between two cards. If I'm not happy with Elite card, I'll downgrade to Premium card.
Silly me, I should of known it was that. Unfortunately, no. That was the first thing I asked the rep, since I did an upgrade I didn't qualify for the SUB. It would be nice to get the bonus after doing a product change or upgrade.
At some places, if you upgrade, you may be eligible for partial or complete SUB (e.g. Amex Gold to Plat). BOA also sometimes sends SUB offers if you PC one card to another.
The SUB for this card is almost hefty (~500$) and it might be better to do a new app instead of upgrade.

That's exactly what I did. I applied with DOC link. I'll give the card a year and decide either to keep or downgrade after I punch in numbers

Good to know.
Is there a minimum CL for approval? I've got a $21k WWFCR which is kind of useless for a card with a $2.5k quarterly bonus spend cap. So I might request a CLD there. PR I'd be more inclined to leave alone.
I still have a lot of miscellaneous miles and certificates to use so I'll probably revisit this later. My current shortlist is now:
- BofA PR Elite
- Altitude Reserve
- Some Chase United card with a great SUB

I think it's 10k min limit approval. Speaking Altitude Reserve, they adding 3% foreign fees in May. If you Travel internationally, I'd reconsider

....well, bleep. When did they announce forex fees were being added on on the AR? If US Bank sent a notice about it I must've missed it
