I just one months usage, I have earned my sign up bonus and just redeemed my points for a round trip airline ticket and two nights at the Aloft! I average about $2.5-$3k in spending a month, which in turn gets me a free night each month. The benefits are great and I'd venture to say this card can go head to head with any other AMEX product and will most likely come out on top!
I definitely recommend this card! ![]()
Awesome!
I assume you redeemed your points by transfering them to travel partners in 20k increments for 5k bonus points. If so, yeah, SPG points are the most highly valued travel reward points. ![]()
Yep, I redeemed my points for an American Airlines flight through SPG.com and got the additional 5k points. I'm flying to Nashville in May and my points paid for my flight hotel stay in full. Can't really beat that! ![]()
Could you please inform me what the redemption rate is and how it works?
For a $1,000 flight for example, how many points would I need?
For a $1000 flight, you would need roughly 50k Starpoints. Starpoints redeem at 1:1 ratio for majority of airlines. For hotel, free nights start at 3k points for a pretty nice place.
When redeemed correctly, I think this is the best rewards program in the industry.

In terms of hotel rewards, it may not be the best. In terms of hotel + flight rewards, nothing right now can beat the SPG. Club Carlson is a close second though.
