Lowes/Synchrony changed my card from a blue card with a clear strip on the right to a solid card. Did the card just change designs or did anything else about the card change?
Old Card
New Card
Card is still 5%- but as a cardholder, you get bumped to the second tier.
(FYI resolution from Lowe's Benefits graphic is horrendous.)
There were changes to the way interest is calculated and added
the new method is if your balance is greater than zero at the beginning of the billing cycle and you make a purchase on top of that balance then you will be charged interest on the new purchase starting on the day of the new purchase.
if you have no balance at the beginning of the billing cycle and make a purchase the standard grace period from statement date to due date should still apply.
At least that's the way I read the new agreement
also they now charge $1.99 for each paper statement if you don't sign up for paperless billing.
they only send a paper statement for months that your statement balance is greater than zero tho.
So, the 5% discount still applies?
Do they still limit it to $35k credit limits?
It seems like essentially the same card, except the online statements & the different way to calculate interest.

They have a rewards program now too.
@FalconSteve.
Idk if the max cl is still 35k
I do know I was approved instantly for a cli from 15k to 30k right after switch to the new card.
so at least 30k is still possible
and I made a purchase with the new card and the amount of the receipt was about $32 but the statement balance was $29.
so the five percent was applied after the fact
I don't remember it that way before
I thought the five percent was applied at the register before. But I could be mistaken.
$35000 is the max CL
for this card.
I think this might be the first time in history a thread was moved from Smorgas to Credit Cards! lol ![]()
Old card doesn't have a CVV # and their web site is so badly coded that if you don't have a card with a CVV it'll deny. There's that :-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought their site is coded poorly.
I feel like they could have added a CVV number without making the card look work p=or removing the characteristic clear area.`
