Last week requested an increase in my Macy's card. Asked for $10k from $6.3k, but was only approved for $8.9k due to too many new accounts, which is okay, but I hadn't frozen my EQ report yet (TU and EX frozen) cause I didn't know if it would affect getting a CLI from Cap 1, but have frozen it now cause I was turned down for not enough usage on each card. Anyway, because I was only partially approved, I used the denial from their letter to look at my EQ report and no HP was present. Have they change policies again....or was I just lucky?
Out of the 2 CLI requests I made, they were both SPs.
I initially went from $300 to 1800. And then put in another req, and was upped to: $2600.
My initial CLI's with Macy were soft pulls. After the accounts were combined (Citi), it was a hard pull for a CLI. Luckily I was able to get 2 increases based on the same pull but it was definitely a HP.

Congrats on your limit. When they first combined, my limit was I want to say $3.3k, then it went to $6.3k and that was a HP and since it's been 8 months, I thought why not and asked for $10k, but was only given the $8.9k which is good, but I still have the same number of INQs and the last one was December when I joined PenFed.

Overall, it just may be more of a ymmv situation. Nice, that sometimes you can possibly use the same HP apparently.
You're probably right. I was just surprised that it wasn't an HP this time. I guess if I request an increase in the future and there's an HP, then it was just a fluke.
