I've got eight inquires on TransUnion, and still got two more synchrony cards after that point. From what I've read, the Marvel card is considered a more top tier card and harder to get. I would wait until your first inquiry has aged at least a year, then try. I think you'll have a better chance of approval and get a higher starting CL.

Sounds sensible to me. I've been considering getting the Marvel MC to replace my Cap 1 "starter" QS MC (upgraded from a Platinum), and I have several inquiries that will age to 1 year+ over the next couple of months so maybe sometime this spring or early summer to give my TU more time to build up. I'm waiting to see also if I get any preapproval/prequalification offers via mail, if they're still being sent out for this card; I got a preapproval last week for the BP gas card (also Sync) but I think I'll pass, I almost never buy gas at BP so there's no point getting that card.
P.S. Any data points yet as to the TU range (lowest/average)?
COnratulations on your build as to date! If you can resist pulling the trigger for a few month, say May then do it. Why May, it will be past your 1 year with Discover and your 6 month with US Bank. If your could get CLI on these two it would help your case drasticall yimproving your scores and your ULT % with a pontentially higher SL from Marvel. Wheather you get approved or not, you should go into the garden for some seasoning for at least April 2019. This will help you potentially get approved for higher tier cards such as CSR. If you want to get a CSR, you need to under the 5/24 rule ( 5 cards under 24 months ) Here is link that could help you keep track of when to ask for your CLI via SP ONLY, dont take a HP for CLI unless you really want that CLI. https://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

Do a internet search for the marvel card and credit boards/credit pulls database. (A direct link to them isn't allowed). Sometimes their data is very old but it'll give you an idea of approval numbers.

Coming back somewhat late, but I finally got around to checking said database. The data is mostly from 2016 when it was brand-new, but the lowest TU it was approved at at that time was 680, though the entries don't say what the SL was.
I was just approved for the Marvel card with a 1k limit and they pulled my TU report which has me at a 704 Fico and my AOA is 10months with four recent inquiries. So if I could get approved not sure why you couldn't.

Well, I'm actually considering doing it this summer once I've combined my two Capital One Quicksilvers, having given new card apps a rest of at least 3 months in the interim (I got a new Discover IT just last week) and given my recent card payoffs and lower utilization time to have a real effect on my scores; this may change if I get a preapproval offer for another decent MC. My TU is 676 as of right now so I'd like it to get at least into the 680's.
