Mastercard Public Transit Benefit extended through 2027

Although I sense that the vast majority of forum members drive most of the time, I wanted to alert those who do take public transportation that the Mastercard Public Transit Benefit, which was previously scheduled to cease at the end of this year, has been extended through December 2027.

I've been using it over the course of the year and it works as advertised: If you spend more than $10 in a calendar month by tapping to pay on subways/buses/commuter rail/ferries/etc. in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia or Washington DC, you get a $2.50 credit applied to your card balance for that month.

Almost every Mastercard supplier supports it, with the big major bank exceptions being BoA (who don't feature a lot of Mastercards in their lineup anyway), Capital One, and the GS Apple Card.

If you're interested, info is available at https://mastercard.com/transitbenefit.

I had no idea. I’ll definitely start using my Mastercard for this. Thanks!
