No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Am I the only one who gets annoyed seeing the Matrix credit card scrolling across the top of the website. there is absolutely no way the matrix credit card is the top bad credit/prepaid card.
I was wondering why such a bad product was promoted here as well.
I should say promoted as the top.
They mean top bad in fees LMAO
I would guess it's because of the flexible approval... you could get a secured, or unsecured card from the one application depending on your credit... Otherwise, I have no idea why it would be a Top card for bad credit.
Oh how I wish they'd stop using the word "Bad" to describe these things... It just sounds so negative.
Here are a few suggestions:
Not Good
Imperfect
Crummy
Icky
Diddly
Amiss
Substandard
Beastly

Well, there is a disclaimer: "These quotes are from credit card issuers which have paid for a link to their website. Offers are subject to change without notice and may not be the same for all consumers." so like many of these sites, the advice might not be totally unbiased, but even more interesting, if you click on Bad Credit, while the header says: "7 Prepaid Cards for Bad Credit Recommended by myFICO"
the editors rating for all the Matrix cards is 1 star out of 5, and the same for two others, Horizon and Continental Finance Cerulean Discover. Only the First Progress get 4 stars
So 5 out of the best 7 get 1 star!
their application web site is so full of spam and popups too! Given the level of knowledge exchanged in these forums, I'd think myFico would have some standards with what it recommends for credit rebuilder cards. Just taking money from what ever card company gives it is setting the bar pretty low. I expexted more from the myFico admins.
The hybrid Matrix card is so bad its not even allowed to be offered in my state.
I tried for that card at the beginning of my credit rebuilding journey in the middle of February of this year. Now that I know more now than I knew then, I'm glad I wasn't able to get this card.
But...if I had to vote, I'd say the Applied Bank Visa Business Card (the only one they offer that's not secured) as the worst of the worst "bad credit" credit cards. Thank God, I happen to own that one! LOL
On a side note:
Curse you WebBank.
PayPal sent me a "special credit offer just for you" so I thought they were implying that I was pre-approved or pre-selected for their Bill Me Now credit offered by WebBank (and I do have FingerHut credit provided by WebBank and have been paying balances off for 2 months now on that so I thought I had a shot). DECLINED.
So in my spite, I then applied for the PayPal Extras MasterCard offered by GECRB and was *drum roll* APPROVED 2 minutues after getting butt humped declined by Bill Me Now.
You suck WebBank and I curse you. GECRB? I wash your feets in water and lick them clean! Thank You GE!
