Merging Capital One and Legacy HSBC Cards

Capital One recently upgraded my crappy Platinum card to a rewards card. However the credit limit is paltry. My old legacy HSBC account (now Capital One) has a much bigger limit. Has anyone had success in getting these accounts combined? I know it was a firm NO right after Capital One absorbed HSBC accounts, but I'm wondering if that has since changed.

Cap-1 still does not allow the combining of cards and limits, this goes for all levelsof customer service  including the EO.

You can try upgrade the bigger limit card to a Quicksilver if you haven't already, they are good about doing that. At least it will have 1 1/2% rewards.
