Mid-cycle reporting from BoA/FIA

Today I got a ScoreWatch alert--both my Sovereign World MC and BoA Cash Rewards 123 World MC reported today. The Sov card showed a balance of $26 and the BoA card $157. Both cards were PIF yesterday and the statement end dates are 07/07 and 07/08 respectively. Um, what gives? My EQ took a 16 point score hit. Not happy about this. Any ideas why they did this?

Same issue but with Discover. Statement closed at $0, however my balance as of a few days later was the reported one. Score took a hit and I'm about to let Citi report a high balance to establish my HB with it.

Unless they changed the card in some way, no.   If you're really curious, take a look at the report and see if the tradeline has changed beyond the balance update from what it was previously.

Not a big deal, unless you were planning to apply for something in the next 2.5 weeks, it'll be gone after the next statement cut date anyway.

Edit: Someone else had this happen too when they asked for an addition of 123 Rewards onto their secured card, but jury was out whether it was an early graduation or not since his was only 7ish weeks out from unsecuring or just something odd.  I've been checking my TU tradeline via CK pretty consistently and haven't seen a balance update... could be BOFA just had some strange bug up their tookus for whatever reason this past month.

Meh, it all looks normal. I don't get it. I wasn't planning on apping for anything but I still do have that CSP offer for $400 CB after 1st purchase and no AF 1st year that keeps taunting me Smiley Tongue

Re: Mid-cycle reporting from BoA/FIA

There have been reports that BoA will do mid-cycle reporting for various reasons. The most common reason is for a CLI. Apparently other account changes such as change of address, etc can trigger a mid-cycle report as well.

I haven't received a CLI, nor did I request one. Nothing has changed with them otherwise; phone, name, address are all still the same.

Barclays did the same thing on my Ameriprise card a couple months ago for unknown reasons.  Irritated me no end.  Smiley Mad

I have noticed that my BOA card will do a midcycle report around the 29-1st of the month. Just update your address (you can change it to the same exact thing). That should trigger them to report again.

Well, I can give that a shot once my payment pulls. I could wait and see what happens over the next couple of weeks in terms of getting back on their normal reporting schedule.

Well, I updated my address to see if that forces a bureau update. I was just going to sit tight but it seems the reports hit at least 2 of the 3.
